Ultrasound Scan of Abdomen – Report 23/10/2008
US ABDOMEN ~The liver has a coarse and nodular echotexture with an irregular surface. It appears to be shrunken. These features are likely to be due to chronic liver cirrhosis. A biopsy of the liver is advised to confirm this. There is normal portal
flow within the liver. The spleen measures approximately 14 cm and is enlarged. There is no evidence of varices. Normal appearance of the gallbladder and both kidneys. The pancreas was not clearly visualised due to bowel gas. The aorta is of normal
calibre. The bladder was underfilled at the time of examination.
